Talwandi Sabo: There has been a demand for poppy cultivation in Punjab for a long time, but the Center and the Punjab government have remained silent in this matter. Today, on the holy festival of Baisakhi, a march was taken out demanding implementation of poppy cultivation at Talwandi Sabo Mela.
A huge rally was held today under the leadership of the Punjab Insaf Team, which is struggling for opium cultivation. But on this occasion, the administration stopped the rally, so people took out a huge march. Women also participated in this march.
On this occasion, State President of Insaaf Team Jagmeet Singh Jagga said that only with poppy cultivation, Punjab can be taken out of the mire of white, injections and bullets. He said that opium cultivation should be allowed in Punjab like Rajasthan, UP and MP states.
The leader of the committee said that the march was taken out with slogans of ‘Bring Poppy, Chitta Bhajao’ due to the increasing drug addiction in Punjab. He said that how many young people are dying every day due to white blood in Punjab. He said that behind this there are anti-Punjab activities which want to see Punjab destroyed. He said that poppy cultivation should be started to end medical addiction. They announced that they will take out such marches in every fair of Punjab.
On this occasion, the Insaaf team leader said that to make the Khasakhs farming movement successful, people should come forward without fear.
