Yesterday, 11 people died due to poisonous gas leakage in Gyaspura area of Ludhiana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over this tragic incident. Prime Minister Modi has announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs 2 lakh through the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased. Along with this, each injured person will be given Rs 50,000. This information was given by tweet by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
It is to be noted that at least 11 people died and 12 people fell ill due to a poisonous gas leak from a factory in Giaspura residential area of Ludhiana on Sunday. Who has been admitted to the hospital in a state of unconsciousness.
After receiving the information, police and administration teams have reached the spot and the area has been sealed. Among the deceased are 5 women and 4 men including 2 children. The children are 10 and 13 years old. Among the dead, 5 people belong to the same family, who belong to Gaya state. The accident took place at 7:15 am in a milk booth built in a building near Gyaspura Industrial Area of the city.
