PM Modi will leave for Dubai on Thursday to participate in the World Climate Action Summit COP-28. PM Modi will be in Dubai on November 30 and December 1 at the invitation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. PM Modi will also hold bilateral talks with some of the global leaders participating in the conference.

Indian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sanjay Sudhir said that India has done what it has said on climate change. Just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dubai to attend the Climate Summit (COP 28), he said everyone, including global leaders, was eagerly waiting to know Prime Minister Modi’s perspective on the issue.

Sudhir said that India considers the COP 28 summit important. PM Modi coming here shows how big this event is. Sudhir said that India has played a leadership role under the vision of Prime Minister Modi on the issue of climate change. Home to one-sixth of the world’s population, India has its own challenges. But despite this, India has started the International Solar Energy Alliance initiative. Apart from this, several steps have been taken which make India a leader on the climate change front.

COP host UAE on Wednesday denied reports that the UAE is using the COP platform to broker agreements to promote the use of fossil fuels in the world.

Sultan Al Jaber, who is leading the COP on behalf of the UAE, said that the UAE is as concerned about the environment and climate change as any other country in the world. Reports of pushing for a deal on fossil fuels are baseless, the UAE said. In fact, Jaber is the CEO of Adnoc, the UAE oil company.

In such a situation, it is being believed that they are advancing the interests of the oil industry. He said that he has resigned from the post of CEO.”

PM Modi is participating in the climate change summit for the third time. Earlier, PM Modi participated in the COP26 conference held in Glasgow in 2021. He then announced the Panchamrit Niti to tackle climate change and the Mission Lifestyle (LIFE) for the environment.

PM Modi participated in COP21 held in Paris in 2015. Meanwhile, more than 190 countries had agreed to the Paris Agreement. Under this agreement, there was talk of limiting the rising global temperature to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Its purpose was to reduce global warming.
