The Punjab Vigilance Bureau today arrested colonizer Pawan Kumar Sharma, a resident of Panchkula, on the charge of helping the ex-Executive Officer (EO) of Zirakpur Municipal Council in the case of creating disproportionate assets.
Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said here today that Pawan Kumar Sharma sold a 25,000 MT capacity open plinth (storage warehouse) situated on 5 acres of land at village Khudal Kalan, Tehsil Breta, District Mansa as agricultural land. K had helped Girish to earn money illegally.
He said that the registration of this land was done at a low price because Pawan Kumar was doing real estate business within the limits of Zirakpur Municipal Council, where Girish Verma was an EO for a long time. was posted as and in return gave him illegal benefits.
He further said that Girish Verma’s son Vikas Verma has many other financial transactions with Pawan Kumar. He also helped legitimize Girish Verma’s illicit money by taking it in cash and through bank entries.
He said that Girish was arrested in October 2022 while Pawan Kumar was absconding. He further said that further investigation of this matter is going on.
Recently, the High Court dismissed the anticipatory bail pleas of co-accused Gaurav Gupta of Kurali (former MC), Sanjeev Kumar of Kharar, who are partners of Vikas Verma in real estate firm Balaji Infra BuildTech. EO Girish Verma’s son Vikas Verma’s anticipatory bail has also been rejected by the High Court and he is still absconding.
