The Municipal Corporation has formed teams of JE and other employees including 18 SDIs for this. In most parts of the city, the water comes at 5 o’clock, so the teams will also roam around the different parts of the city for three hours in the morning. It has been told by the corporation that if anyone is seen washing the vehicle, fence, lawn with fresh water, then no notice will be given to him, but a challan of Rs. 5250 will be deducted directly.
The challan amount will be sent along with the water bill, apart from this, if someone’s tank is overflowing then a 2 day notice will be sent to him. If it is not closed within 2 days, then a fine of Rs. 5250 will be imposed on him.
If booster pump is found in pipeline, it will be confiscated
The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has said that during the investigation, if the teams find a booster pump installed in the water pipe line of a person’s house, then it will be confiscated and the challan will also be deducted, if any person repeats it even after imposing a fine. If he violates, the water connection of that person will be disconnected without notice. In summer, the consumption of water in the city reaches 5460 lakh liters, while the municipal corporation does not get so much water. That is why the challan is being cut to prevent wastage of water.
This will be considered a waste of water
Washing vehicles, washing lawns, watering lawns, letting underground water tanks overflow, leaking water from water meter chambers, installing booster pumps on pipe lines, wasting water for any other reason. . All these will be seen as wastage of water.
