There is good news for those who want to get a passport to go abroad. Now you don’t need to go to passport office to get passport in Chandigarh. The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has selected the Chandigarh Regional Passport Office and launched the Passport Seva Service Excellence Van in the city as a pilot project.
The service, launched under a pilot project by the Ministry of External Affairs, is currently operational with 4 Passport Seva Service Excellence vans. Taking advantage of this service which started from Thursday, 80 candidates have applied on the first day itself. With the introduction of this service, the applicant will no longer need to come to the office. This state-of-the-art van is a complete mobile passport office in itself.
All work will be completed within 7 days
All possible efforts are being made by the passport office to provide better facilities to the passport applicants. After the recently launched DigiLocker service, the Passport Seva Service Excellence Van is being touted as another great initiative to reduce the time taken for document verification.
Happily for passport aspirants availing this service, they will not have to wait for months to get their fingerprints and photographs taken. All formalities of the applicant will be completed within just 7 days of registration.

If you also want to get your passport through the Passport Seva Seva Excellence Van launched by the Ministry of External Affairs, you have to apply passportindia.gov.in Have to login to the website. After this you have to select the WAN option from different procedures to apply on the website. Once the details are filled, the date of the fingerprint and photo will be fixed.
80 people can apply daily in one van
Only 80 people will be able to take advantage of the van service introduced for making passports in a day. Under the scheme, one van will have 80 registrations per day. The passport office has also deployed personnel in vans to check applicants’ documents. A total of 80 applications were registered in four vans on the first day. According to the passport officer, about 9,000 people will be able to get the facility of passport making from this van in a month.
