Ahead of the fourth anniversary of the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor, Pakistan’s Kartarpur Project Management Unit (PMU) is preparing to gift Indian pilgrims. PMU is planning to allow overnight stay or modify their stay at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Narowal District, Pakistan.

According to this proposal, devotees are planned to attend ‘Amrit Vela’ (Morning) and Sandhya (Evening) prayers or at least one of them at Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurdwara Sahib.

According to PMU Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Muhammad Abu Bakr Aftab Qureshi, most pilgrims have expressed their dissatisfaction over the idea. Currently, Indian pilgrims coming to visit Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib cannot attend morning or evening prayers due to time restrictions.

Proposal sent to the Government of Pakistan
PMU has formally submitted the proposal to the Government of Pakistan. In which Indian pilgrims have been urged to consider allowing overnight stay or changing the pilgrimage programme. After which Indian pilgrims will be able to participate in morning and evening prayers or at least one of them.

Passengers stay from 8 am to 4 pm
As of now, a day’s travel time to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib via Kartarpur Corridor from Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur District of Punjab, India is 8 AM to 4 PM. Along with this, on November 9, the inauguration of this corridor will complete 4 years.
