Punjab Flood: Punjab Information and Public Relations Minister Chetan Singh Jaudamajra said that Haryana government did not clean the siphons built on the Ghaggar under the Hansi-Butana canal on time due to which the villages of the Punjab area were badly affected by water. are

The Cabinet Minister made this disclosure while visiting various affected villages in response to questions asked by journalists. He said that the Haryana government should have cleaned the siphons in advance. He said that if the siphon had been cleaned, this incident would not have happened.

Cabinet Minister Chetan Singh Jaudamajra said that he has asked Deputy Commissioner of Patiala Sakshi Sahni to talk to the Deputy Commissioner of Kaithal regarding this issue.

They visited the affected villages of Dharmaheri, Ghiura, Kamaspur, Dhanuri, Nawan Gaon, Bibipur, Ghajislar, Rajla, Droula, Drouli, Bhanra, Bhanri, Main, Sassa Gujran, Sassa Theh, Mangatan, Samspur and interacted with the villagers. He instructed the district administration to send necessary boats and other relief materials here.

Chetan Singh Jaudamajra appealed to the villagers to follow the appeal made by the district administration to go to safe places due to the arrival of water. He said that arrangements have been made to stay at Gurdwara Karhali Sahib and more necessary relief materials are being delivered.

The cabinet minister said that the government of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and he himself is continuously visiting more than 50 villages affected by the rapid flow of water in his constituency in this hour of crisis and ensuring the safety of the villagers.

Chetan Singh Jaudamajra said that due to the heavy rain in the hilly areas, in addition to Ropar, Dera Bassi, Rajpura, Ghanour, Sanur, Samana, Shutrana, Nabha, including Ghaggar and other rivers passing through Sangrur, the unaccounted water has caused heavy damage.

On this occasion, Gurdev Singh Tiwana, Advocate Gulzar Singh Virak, Balkar Singh Gajjumajra, Surjit Singh Fauji and Amardeep Singh Sonu Thind, Maninder Singh and other dignitaries were also present.
