The police have received intelligence about drug and arms trafficking in Punjab. On the basis of which, the Punjab Police has set up an inter-state blockade in the areas bordering the border of 4 states and the Pakistan border.
Since Saturday morning, the Punjab Police is checking all the vehicles and questioning the suspects. DGP Gaurav Yadav has also ordered the counter-intelligence agency of the state to be vigilant.
It should be said that on Friday, Punjab Police Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Arpit Shukla held an important meeting with BSF officials to crack down on smugglers.
SP Rajpal Singh Hundal said that this operation has been named Operation SEAL-3 by the Punjab Police. This search operation is being conducted across the state under Operation SEAL-3.
Officials say that the main purpose of this operation is only to control drugs. The effect of this operation is being seen in about 10 districts. These districts are Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan adjoining Punjab.
The most important of these is the Chandigarh-Punjab border. The police are admitting that smugglers easily enter these states through Punjab, due to which the Punjab police have sealed the borders in coordination with the police of the four states.
Punjab Police teams are deployed in the border area. Every vehicle is being stopped and their documents are being checked. This is because smugglers are smuggling stolen vehicles with fake number plates. Due to which the police have decided to check every vehicle. Along with this, the police is also checking buses and trucks. People were also being killed during the blockade.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann had said on August 15 that the Punjab Police is preparing to take a major action against drugs soon. According to sources, Punjab Police is taking this action on the orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. More than 100 Punjab Police jawans in civil dress have been deployed in various public places of Punjab. Who are just watching people.
