In fact, before this, the Hong Kong court has approved the Indian government’s request regarding the extradition of gangster Romi. After this, Romi filed a petition in the High Court, which has now been dismissed. Gangster Romi was arrested in 2016. But after being released on bail, he fled to Hong Kong. After this he was arrested in Hong Kong. The Punjab Police then raised this issue with the Ministry of External Affairs to initiate proceedings for his extradition.

Earlier, after the disappearance of gangster Romi, a red corner notice was issued against him. Romi is also suspected to be involved in the murders in Jalandhar and Ludhiana in 2016-17. According to Punjab Police, he was in touch with gangster Gurpreet Singh Sheikho. Gurpreet was one of the six persons who escaped from Nabha Jail in November 2016 and was the main conspirator in the case.

Police believe that Romi had provided money to those who escaped from the jail. Along with this, the entire jailbreak conspiracy was hatched from Hong Kong. It may be mentioned that on November 27, 2016, six prisoners escaped from Nabha Jail in Patiala. They included two terrorists and four notorious gangsters. had escaped from the jail break.
