On the occasion of Ramnaomi, the roof of the well fell in the Indore temple

11 people lost their lives due to the collapse of the roof of the temple in Indore’s Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal temple on the occasion of Ramnaomi. About 25 people fell into a 40 feet deep well. Police pulled out 18 people with the help of ropes. Among them, two are girls and seven are women. It is feared that some other people including one and a half and 11 year old children may be trapped. There is four to five feet of water in the steps. The Municipal Corporation has called for three motors to extract water. All the dead bodies that were visible in the well have been taken out.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Indore Collector T Ilya Raja confirmed the removal of 11 bodies. Among the deceased, one of them has been identified as Bharti Kukreja (65), a resident of Sadhu Vaswani Nagar. She came to the temple with her daughter Sonia. Daughter Sonia came up the stairs. While his mother got stuck in the mud below. One of the deceased has been identified as Inder Kumar.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place during Havan at Sneh Nagar on Sapna Sangeeta Road. People were sitting on the roof of the stairs. Its roof collapsed under the weight and people fell down. This temple is about 60 years old.

The Prime Minister called the Chief Minister to know the situation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that he is deeply saddened by the Indore incident. Spoke to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and inquired about the situation. The state government is advancing rapidly in rescue and relief operations.
