He said that on the martyrdom day of Kartar Singh Sarabha, the holiday was not made to celebrate a picnic, but because the children would ask their parents today why the school had a holiday today, then the parents would tell the children that Kartar Singh Sarabha had sacrificed for the freedom of the country, due to which a holiday has been declared in schools today on his martyrdom day.

He said that today, for the first time in the newspapers, the photographs of Kartar Singh Sarabha ji and the 7 other companions have also been published. A total of 8 men were hanged and 7 men were never questioned. The Chief Minister said that the martyrs knew that independence would come but they were afraid of the hands of the country after that.

He asked the people to end the fear of martyrs and asked them to make Punjab a prosperous and colorful Punjab. He said that now Punjab is moving towards progress. Youth are getting employment. Announcing about the Punjab Police, he said that the Punjab Police will recruit every year and the youth should stay away from drugs and focus on their work, the Punjab government stands with them.
