Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will hold a meeting today regarding the loss of wheat and vegetable crops due to heavy rain and hailstorm in Punjab. The meeting will be held at the Civil Secretariat at 11 am. It will be attended by top officials of Agriculture and Revenue Departments.
CM Mann will get information about the survey done in relation to crop damage so far. According to the Punjab government, efforts are being made to deposit the compensation amount in the bank accounts of all the affected farmers before Baisakhi.
Announcement for farmer-labourers
It may be mentioned that after the unseasonal rain recently, Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann had announced the compensation amount. He said to deposit the compensation amount in the bank accounts of the farmers before Baisakhi. Mann said that the compensation amount will be deposited in the bank account of any farmer who is currently cultivating, even if the owner of the farm is someone else.
CM Mann has also announced that the Punjab government will provide financial assistance to the daily wage labourers.
