Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has arrived at the state level program organized in Moga today on Teacher’s Day. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and other cabinet ministers are also present with him. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann offered flowers to Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan along with lighting the lamp.

The students of the Government Girls’ School performed the Shabad Shravana ceremony. After this, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains told the group of teachers and others present in the program that if there is any holy character in the world, it is that of a teacher. He said that there is no dearth of grants in the education world.

A ‘Teacher of the Week’ will be selected every week
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the Punjab government has decided that Teacher of the Week will now be announced every week. Their contribution and struggle will be told to the press and Punjab.

Referring to a teacher couple of a school in Sangrur, he said that they have given their whole life to the school. Even after vacations, they stay in school and play with the children. He said that this is the education department of Punjab and there are hundreds of such examples.

Earlier, Bains thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for handing over the charge of Education Department to him. He also said that earlier the education department was considered as the department of picketing and lathi charge, which was the tragedy of Punjab. The department in which the future of every child is in the hands, that department was considered as the opposing department.

Education Minister visited 500 schools
The Education Minister said that he visited more than 500 schools in his 14-month tenure. From their point of view, the department is not a protest department. Only a few people were on board the tank. The demands of many employees were legitimate.

He said that the previous governments have made the state of government schools bad by not giving grants. But the teachers maintained the schools with their hard earned money and the support of the people. Giving the example of a high school in Nabha, he said that the teachers here take care of the children who are unable to get education due to poverty, keeping them in their homes.
