Purchase of Maize and Moong: Senior Vice President of Shiromani Akali Dal, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, former MP, has said that the farmers of Punjab are being robbed openly in the purchase of maize and groundnuts and the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab is sitting silently as a spectator. He said that the government should come forward to stop this robbery, otherwise the Shiromani Akali Dal will have to struggle to get justice for the farmers.

Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra said that the MSP of maize has been fixed at Rs 2090 per quintal but the farmer is getting only Rs 1000-1100 per quintal. He said that the farmers of Punjab are being robbed economically and similarly, the price of monggi is also getting a difference of Rs. 1000-1500 per quintal and lime is being applied to the farmers.

He said that the Punjab government had promised that the farmers would arrange alternative crops and the government would give them full support. He said that now the farmers have tried, the government is running away from help.

He said that the second thing is that the government has kept crores of rupees in the budget under the “Bhavantara Reipai Scheme”. He said that no arrangement has been made to give information to the farmers about the portal created by the Punjab government, nor has any arrangement been made for the access of the farmers to that portal.

Professor Prem Singh Chandumajra said that the ignorance of the Punjab government towards the schemes of the Centre, or the lack of interest in these schemes or neglecting them, is proving fatal for the farmers of Punjab and it is affecting the farmers of Punjab. is

Chandumajra said that earlier in the matter of NHM, Punjab has already suffered Rs 800 crore. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab has shown the central government’s schemes in its name only to shine its name and by doing so, the Punjab government has shot itself in the foot.

He said that the situation in Punjab has become such that “Rome is burning and Nero is playing the flute”. He said that the Chief Minister is sometimes visiting Chhattisgarh, sometimes Rajasthan and sometimes Madhya Pradesh. They are in the process of winning Rajasthan’s votes by giving Punjab’s water to Rajasthan. He said that BBMB is directly releasing excess water from Punjab to Rajasthan. He said that due to the negligence, ignorance and incompetence of the Punjab government, the pockets of Punjabis are getting empty, but the Punjab government is sitting as a silent spectator, no matter how much it is condemned.
