Nagpur Test: Australia ended on 177 runs on the first day

In the first cricket test match that started between India and Australia yesterday, Australia was limited to 177 runs on the first day. Ravindra Jadeja returned to international cricket after injury and took five wickets on the first day. After that, India scored 77 runs for one wicket.

The skipper stuck to Rohit Sharma (56 not out) till the end of the day’s play and is supported by Ravichandran Ashwin, who is yet to open his account. After a 76-run opening partnership with the captain, India lost the wicket of Lokesh Rahul (20) in the final moments of the day, caught by off-spinner Todd Murphy (1 for 13).

Rohit has hit nine fours and a six in his innings of 69 balls. India are now 100 runs behind Australia’s first innings score of 177 with 9 wickets remaining. The host team will try to get a big lead in the first innings. Coming back from a knee injury, Jadeja (5/47) has troubled the Australian batsmen by taking five or more wickets in an innings for the 11th time. He was supported well by off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (3/42).
