Gurdwara Bahadurgarh Sahib: Nagar Kirtan was organized under the leadership of Panj Pyaras and Nishanchi Singhs at the historical shrine dedicated to the arrival of the ninth Patshah Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji. The Nagar Kirtan started after the prayers offered by the Head Granthi Bhai Avtar Singh for the good of Sarbat.

Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, arrived on the occasion of the inauguration, who decorated the image of Guru Maharaj in a palanquin decorated with flowers with dignity and respect. During the Nagar Kirtan, which started with the chants of Bole So Nihal, the senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal and former member of Parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Shiromani Committee members, Jathedar Jarnail Singh Kartarpur, Jathedar Surjit Singh Garhi, Jathedar Jasmer Singh Lachhru, Jathedar Satwinder Singh Tohra and others participated in large numbers.

On the occasion of leaving for Nagar Kirtan Padha, along with the palanquin decorated with flowers, the devotees were chanting God and Gatka parties also displayed the charms of Gatka. Sangat dressed as broom bearers were serving in front of Palki Sahib. During this, flowers were showered by the devotees and school children in Khalsai attires provided Khalsai color to the Nagar Kirtan. Meanwhile, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, congratulated the devotees on the arrival day of Guru Sahib and said that while Guru Sahib’s speech gives peace and inspires to sing the praises of God, it also provides human rights. The testimony of guarding and the sacrifice of Guru Sahib is unique in world history. Shiromani Committee President said that the words of Guru Sahib recorded in Sri Guru Granth Sahib provide the entire humanity with the precious principle of living in the presence of God.

On this occasion Sen. Akali leader Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that from the martyrdom given by Guru Sahib, humanity got such a life test, which shows the way to follow Guru Ashe. He said that from Guru Sahib’s Gurbani and life ideology, the principle of not to be afraid and not to be afraid is also found. Prof. Chandumajra said that Guru Sahib gave his martyrdom by rising above religion, caste and race. During the Nagar Kirtan, Jathedar Jarnail Singh Kartarpur, member of the Antrang Committee, showed the way to connect with Guru Sahib’s philosophy of life, Gurbani philosophy and thanked the devotees who came from far away.

On this occasion, Jathedar Jarnail Singh Kartarpur, member of the Atrang Committee, said that on the demand of the devotees, a Diwan Hall equipped with modern facilities was prepared at Gurdwara Sahib. Referring to the history related to Nafab Saif Khan, he said that Nawab Saif Khan was such a personality, who will be remembered till the time of his life, who took shelter of Guru Sahib and raised slogans in favor of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib. He opposed the oppressive policies of the Mughal Empire.

He said that when Guru Sahib reached Saifabad wearing a chala from Anandpur Sahib, Nawab Saif Khan welcomed Guru Sahib, presented Ashrafis and presented a horse. Before moving to Delhi, Guru Sahib also blessed Saif Khan to follow the path of religion and spread the Sangati Dharma Prachar Pasar movement, in whose memory the Diwan Hall of Guru Sahib has been dedicated to Nawab Saif Khan .
