BMW Motorrad has launched the R 18 Transcontinental cruiser motorcycle in India. The motorcycle comes with a 1,802 cc boxer engine, which is air and oil cooled and comes with a flat-twin cylinder configuration. The engine produces 91 hp at 4,750 rpm and 158 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. It also gets infotainment system with heated grips, heated seats, adjustable brakes and clutch lever.

BMW Mororrad on Thursday announced the launch of the R 18 Transcontinental in India. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 31.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike will be made available in the country by importing completely built units (CBU).

The USP of the BMW R 18 is its twin-cylinder boxer engine, which is the most powerful boxer engine in the Motorrad lineup. It is a 1,802 cc boxer engine, which is air and oil cooled and comes with a flat-twin cylinder configuration. The engine produces 91 hp at 4,750 rpm and 158 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm.

The motorcycle weighs 427 kg with a full fuel tank, where the tank capacity is 24 liters with a reserve of 4 liters. The top speed of the bike is 180 kmph.

It also gets infotainment system with heated grips, heated seats, adjustable brakes and clutch lever. Features like active cruise control, automatic stability control and dynamic engine brake control are present on the motorcycle.

The R 18 Transcontinental gets a large handlebar mounted fairing along with a windshield, wind deflectors, storage case and light alloy cast wheels. It also gets four analog circular instrument and 10.25-inch TFT color display.
