Tata Motors beats Hyundai in March to Become Second Biggest Car Seller

Tata Motors, which is among the big automobile companies, has overtaken Hyundai in March to become the second largest company in the passenger vehicles market. Tata Motors has benefited from the launch of new vehicles. The company sold 46,847 units of passenger vehicles in March. This is an increase of over 26 per cent as compared to the same month last year.

According to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), Hyundai sold 46,703 units in March. This is an increase of 4.42 per cent over the same period last year. Maruti Suzuki has retained its first position. The company’s sales last month stood at 1,37,201 units. This is an increase of over 15 per cent on a year-on-year basis. The company had sold 1,18,446 units in the same month last year.

Tata Motors’ total production of passenger vehicles has crossed 5 million units. company crossed the production mark of one million passenger vehicles in 2004. After this, in 2010 it reached 20 lakh units. The company had completed production of 30 lakh units in 2015 and 40 lakh units in 2020.

Recently, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Passenger Vehicles Unit, Tata Motors, said in a statement, “The journey from each million units to the next million units has seen a lot of ups and downs.” The company said that it has taken less than three years to reach the total production of 4 million units from 5 million units, despite the difficulties related to Corona and the shortage of semiconductors.
