Bureau report : Jasvir Jassi, the main accused of desecration in Ithisar Gurdwara Kotwali Sahib of Morinda, died on Monday night due to chest pain and difficulty in breathing in Mansa Civil Hospital. When he was to be brought to Patiala for post-mortem, all the ambulance drivers of Mansa city flatly refused to take his dead body. After which trouble arose for the Mansa police. The police waited for hours and tried hard to get an ambulance driver and owner to agree to take the body but to no avail. So the police brought the dead body of Jasvir Jassi to Patiala in their vehicle. Earlier, Ropar Bar Association had also refused to fight the case of accused Jasvir Jassi. The family has also not reached the civil hospital of Mansa to identify Jasvir Jassi.
SSP Nanak Singh’s statement on the funeral
After the death of Jasvir Jassi, the main accused of blasphemy, the family was given the name. But despite this, the family did not reach Mansa due to fear. Mansa SSP Nanak Singh has told that the family may reach Patiala directly where the post-mortem is to be conducted. He said that if the family refuses to take the body, Jasvir Jassi will be cremated after getting his identity. Earlier, Sikh organizations have appealed to the administration not to cremate him in Morinda.

Eighth Pehar Tehal Seva organization has appealed to the administration not to cremate Jasvir Jassi, the main accused of blasphemy, in Morinda. Addressing the congregation, the leader of the organization, Gurpreet Singh, said that the person who insulted Guru Sahib has been punished, but Jasvir Jassi, the main accused of blasphemy, should not be cremated on the land of Murinde. He said that then his cremation ceremony should not be paid for on the soil of Punjab, but at least it should not be done at all in Murinde.
Apart from this, Gurpreet Singh, the leader of the Tehal Sewa Organization, said that Jasveer, accused of blasphemy, should not be cremated with Sikh rituals. They have appealed to the Granthi Singhs, Pathi Singhs and Kirtis not to attend any funeral ceremony of Jasvir Singh. The Tehal Seva organization said that if Jasvir Singh’s last rites are held in a Gurdwara despite this, it will be no less than an act of blasphemy. He said that every person involved in this will be socially boycotted. Leader Gurpreet Singh said that the incident of blasphemy in Murinde has broken the heart of every Sikh. For this, lessons of repentance were conducted in Gurdwara Kotwali Sahib, if despite this, Jasveer will be cremated with Sikh etiquette, then what will be the benefit?
