Moga: The killer of NRI was arrested, after 20 days it was known because of smell, big revelations in the case

The dead body of an NRI was recovered from his house in Moga's Badni Khurd village on Friday. It is believed that he was murdered about 20 days ago. Police investigating the case found another body in the drain a few hours later. The body belonged to a youth named Manikaran and his name was also included among the three accused who murdered the NRI. Police have arrested 2 accused in this case.

SSP Moga Viveksheel Soni said during the press conference today that the accused of the double murder have been identified as Rajesh Singh son of Satpal Singh and Kulwinder Singh son of Sukhdev Singh Vasian Badhni Khurd. SSP said that Akashdeep Singh son of Gursevak Singh resident of Badhni Khurd had informed the Thana Mahna police that on February 22, Rajesh Singh and Kulwinder Singh took his brother Manikaran Singh from home on the pretext of showing a movie and did not return home at night.

Akashdeep told the police that the next day he and his brother Gagandeep Singh started searching at Moga city and they found Rajesh Singh and Kulwinder Singh on the way. Akashdeep became suspicious of both of them. On Akashdeep Singh's statement, the Mehna police had registered a case under section 364 against Rajesh Singh and Kulwinder Singh.

During the investigation, it was found that NRI Mandeep Singh was murdered by Manikaran Singh, Rajesh Singh and Kulwinder Singh in a conspiracy many days ago. After the murder, Mandeep Singh's body was kept in his house and escaped. Badhni Kalan police station registered a case against the three accused under section 302/120B.

The SSP said that he arrested Rajesh and Kulwinder on February 23. During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted to the police that on the intervening night of February 1 and 2, they entered with Manikaran Singh with the intention of robbing money and jewels, when Mandeep alias Tirth Singh woke up. Tirth Singh shouted and Rajesh Singh attacked him with a knife and also killed Tirth Singh by strangulation.

The accused had a grudge with the deceased. No one knew about it for 20 days. Manikaran knew everything about the murder, so they killed him too. Police has added Section 302 in the case.
