Chandigarh: A case of irregularities in the 9th class English book of the Punjab School Education Board has come to light. A lot of information about Shaheed Udham Singh is wrongly given in the book. This claim has been made by Ghadri Shaheed Udham Singh think tank. Manch has claimed that the book has recorded Shaheed Udham Singh from his birth date to his martyrdom date. Along with this, many information related to Shaheed Udham Singh are also wrong.

According to the news of Dainik Bhaskar Gadri Shaheed Udham Singh Vikhar Manch has also written a letter to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the mistakes made in the 9th class English book. Manch has written a letter to the Chief Minister asking that the errors mentioned in the book about Shaheed Udham Singh should be corrected so that children can get correct information. For a long time, the department has been giving wrong information to the children regarding the biography of the martyr.

Rakesh Kumar, head of the forum, said that he has written 17 books on the biography of Shaheed Udham Singh and five books on his biography. An article related to the biography of Shaheed Udham Singh has been written on page number-39, 40 of Punjab Education Board’s English book Main Course Book. Rakesh said that Shaheed Udham Singh was hanged on 31 July 1940, the article says that he was hanged on 30 July.

Shaheed Udham Singh was born on 26th December 1899 but in the article published in the book it is stated that he was born on 18th December 1899. Apart from this, the photo of Udham Singh printed in the article does not match the original photo. Also, there are several factual errors in the book. Rakesh said that he has received the reply to the letter sent to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister has sent a letter to the Secretary of the Punjab School Education Board to rectify all the mistakes.
