BSP supremo Mayawati from UP has not been invited for the meeting, while Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary has announced not to attend the meeting citing a family event. Mamata Banerjee met Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on her arrival here in the evening.
In the evening, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also met Mamata. CPI General Secretary D Raja praised the Patna meeting and said that it is a good step taken in the right direction. He said that the assembly elections of many states and the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 are scheduled to be held in the coming months and a clear picture will emerge with this meeting. He claimed that coming together of secular democratic parties is a positive message and because of this BJP is in a difficult position.
