Minister Laljit Bhullar took a pledge to donate his eyes

Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has taken a pledge to donate his eyes. Therefore, they have filled the eye donation form with Rotary Eye Bank and Cornea Transplantation Society Hoshiarpur. He has become the first cabinet minister of Punjab to donate eyes in the Mann government.

Cabinet Minister Bhullar, during a meeting in his office, appealed to the people of Punjab to be a part of this noble work in maximum number. A delegation led by Rotary Eye Bank and Cornea Transplantation Society Chairman JB Bahl met Minister Bhullar.

The delegation told that their organization encourages people to donate eyes after death. Sastha has given eyesight to more than 3800 people so far. Among them, about 400 people are between the ages of 6 months and 16 years.

The Government of India has recently issued a notification on the lines of European countries, at the time of making the license in India, the applicant has started filling the box regarding agreeing/disagreeing to donate his body parts, eyes in case of death in an accident.

Minister Bhullar instructed the departmental officials to issue letters to Regional Transport Authority Secretaries to encourage people to donate eyes when they die in a road accident while getting or renewing their driving license. With this, Punjab will become the state with the highest number of eye donors in India.
