1240 Anganwadi Centers in the state will be upgraded from Mini Anganwadi Centers to Main Anganwadi Centers by the Hon'ble Government.
Social Security Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Giving information, Baljit Kaur said that out of total 27314 Anganwadi Setters in the state, 1240 Anganwadi Setters were running as Mini Anganwadi Centers. He said that one worker was working in these 1240 Anganwadi Satters, who was paid an honorarium of Rs 3500 per month.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had given permission to convert these 1240 mini Anganwadi sets into main Anganwadi sets considering the demand of the Anganwadi Workers Union for a long time.
In view of the approval given by the state government, the central government has also given permission to convert these 1240 mini anganwadi setters into main anganwadi setters.
The Cabinet Minister said that according to the approval of Mini to Main Anganwadi Setters, now the total approved 27314 Anganwadi Setters in Punjab have come under the category of Main Anganwadi Setters. He said that now the monthly honorarium of a mini anganwadi worker will increase from Rs 3500 to a total of Rs 4500.
He said that honorarium is being given to Anganwadi workers and helpers in Anganwadi centers as per the rules of the Central Government and a separate honorarium is given by the Punjab Government.
The Minister further informed that with the approval of the Main Anganwadi Centers, 1240 Anganwadi Helpers' honorary posts have also been created, due to which 1240 Anganwadi Helpers will be recruited soon. Anganwadi helper's honorarium will be Rs.2250 per month.
He said that in addition to the fixed honorarium given by the Government of India, the state government gives Rs 5000 to the Anganwadi worker and Rs 3100 to the helper per month and along with this, an annual increase of Rs 500 to the Anganwadi worker and Rs 250 to the helper was given in January. goes
He said that due to this initiative taken by the Punjab government, 1240 women will get employment and the beneficiaries of Anganwadi sets will also be benefited in a proper way.
