Migrant laborer died due to electrocution

A migrant laborer has died due to electrocution at Machiwara in Ludhiana district. He was spraying pesticides on corn in the fields. Suddenly the electric wire hanging in the fields touched his body. Due to this, he suffered a severe shock and died on the spot.

The deceased laborer has been identified as Rakesh Kumar (20), a resident of Balibeg Basti. Rakesh Kumar along with 9 colleagues had come to Machhiwara to spray the maize crop. Immediately after the death of Rakesh, his colleagues informed the Machiwara police station. Police Chief Davinderpal Singh reached the spot. After shutting off the power supply, the police took possession of Rakesh’s body. DSP Waryam Singh said that due action will be taken on the statements of the family.
