Meteorological Department issued Orange Alert

The day started with rain in most of the districts of Punjab. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in the districts of Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Mohali, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar and Moga till noon where there will be rain with strong winds. There are chances of rain in many other states today, with which the temperature is likely to drop by 3 to 5 degrees in most of the districts of the state.

According to the alert issued by the Meteorological Department, apart from the alert in 9 districts, a yellow alert has been issued in the entire state. Apart from 9 districts, yellow alert continues in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Talwandi Sabo Barnala, Sangrur, Mohali, Moga Nakodar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Anandpur Sahib, Phagwara.

Due to rain all day today, there will be no change in temperature for most of the day. Temperatures in most cities will drop below 30 degrees today. This weather will continue on Sunday as well. Strong winds are likely during the rains. Heavy rain may occur in many districts on July 9 as well. The weather will clear on July 10.

According to Weather Center Chandigarh, 21.0 mm of rain was recorded in Ropar, 4.2 mm in Gurdaspur and SBS Nagar, 0.5 mm in Ludhiana, 1.1 mm in Chandigarh. Other districts of Punjab also received drizzle during the day. According to Weather Center Chandigarh, heavy rain may occur in Majha and Doaba of Punjab today.
