Shillong. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying its best in the assembly elections in the North East. The party is campaigning heavily here. On Tuesday, BJP national president JP Nadda lashed out at the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Congress in Meghalaya. Also promised to make the state corruption free.

Addressing a public meeting in Shillong, Nadda said, “Ever since Modi ji came to the state of North East, a development competition has started among themselves and it has been our endeavor that all the states move forward. But due to corruption, Meghalaya did not grow that fast, so BJP has decided that we will make this state corruption free.

Attacking the TMC and the Congress, the BJP president said, “I have come to know that nowadays a TMC has come here..T stands for Tolabaji, M stands for Money Laundering and Mafiaraj and C stands for Corruption and Commission. These are the people who do politics by dividing the society. These are also the people who destroy the culture here.. why should such people be allowed to live? He said, “As far as the Congress is concerned… it is neither here nor there… it does not belong anywhere, it does not belong to anyone, it only wants power.”

Emphasizing on the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nadda said that today the country is not a taker but a giver. Appreciating the healthcare sector, Nadda said that in the past it used to take years for countries to prepare vaccines, but India developed the vaccine for COVID-19 within a span of a few months. He said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has sent corona virus vaccines to 100 countries. It has been provided free of cost to 48 countries. India today is not a taker but a giver.

He recalled how in the past Japanese vaccines took years to reach India. Nadda said, “Earlier, it took years for medicines and vaccines for diseases like chickenpox and polio to arrive. However, India had prepared the vaccine in a few months during the Kovid-19 pandemic.

The BJP president said that US President Joe Biden still wears a mask in America, while 130 crore Indians roam around safely without a mask. Nadda also said that developed countries like Japan and the US once dominated the automobile market, but “India today ranks third in manufacturing and exporting vehicles.”

Praising Modi, Nadda said India is also making a lot of progress in the telecom sector, adding that “the day is not far when ‘Made in India’ will be written on top brands like iPhone”.

Significantly, Nadda is going to release BJP’s election manifesto on Wednesday. Meghalaya will go to polls on February 27. The counting of votes will take place on March 2.
