Maruti Suzuki Increases Prices of Many Cars, XL6 to be Costly by Rs 15000

The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices of its six models. These include the Dzire, Ciaz, XL6, Swift, Celerio and the WagonR. The price hike has come into effect from April. The company has increased their prices from Rs 1,500 to Rs 15,000.

The highest price hike of Rs 15,000 is for the three-row XL6. It was launched last year. Its starting price has been Rs 11.41 lakh (ex-showroom). The WagonR, one of Maruti’s best-selling cars, has seen the least price hike of Rs 1,500. Its starting price will be Rs 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the company’s Celerio has also increased by Rs 1,500. Its starting price will be Rs 5.36 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from this, the price of Swift has increased by Rs 5,000.

Maruti’s utility vehicles sales stood at 25,001 units. The segment includes the Grand Vitara, Brezza, S-Cross, XL6 and Ertiga.

The company had showcased the new models Jimny and Fronx at the Auto Expo earlier this year and they will be launched soon. Bookings for both car models can be done through the company’s website or offline at Nexa dealerships. Last month, Maruti had reported that the semiconductor shortage could last for the next few quarters. This will further increase the number of pending orders for some of the company’s vehicles. The number of pending orders with Maruti has increased to 3.69 lakh units. The company suffered a production loss of around 46,000 units during October-December due to semiconductor shortage. The company may launch Jimny soon. It gets a 3-spoke steering wheel and a twin-pod analogue instrument cluster.
