Martyr Jasbir of Tarn Taran was awarded Shaurya Chakra by President Murmu, the mother became emotional

Lance Naik Jasbir Singh, a resident of village Weipui in Khadur Sahib Vidhan Sabha area of โ€‹โ€‹Tarn Taran district of Punjab, was martyred while taking iron with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on 29 December 2021. Posthumously, Jasbir Singh has been awarded Shaurya Chakra by President Draupadi Murmu.

President Draupadi Murmu presents Shaurya Chakra to Jasbir Singh, Regiment of Artillery, 19th Battalion, Rashtriya Rifles (posthumously) at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Shaheed Jasbir’s mother received this honour. President Murmu honored the martyr’s mother by giving her son’s Shaurya Chakra, during which the mother’s eyes filled with tears. Seeing that, he hugged the mother of Shaheed Jasbir Singh.

Shaheed Jasbir displayed exceptional bravery in eliminating terrorists during an operation in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. He was hit by several bullets and made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Farmer Gurbhaj Singh son of Jasbir Singh was born on 25 February 1955. He was the eldest son of his family. He completed his initial education from the village itself. After completing his high school studies, Jasbir Singh was preparing to join the Indian Army.

Finally, hard work paid off and on 28 December 2014, Jasbir joined the army’s Artillery Corps. After initial training, he was inducted as a gunner in 39 Field Regiment. Then in 2020, Lance Naik Jasbir Singh was posted in 19RR and during this time he was martyred while fighting with a terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir on December 2021.
