Bureau Report: An arrest warrant has been issued against the former Finance Minister of Punjab Manpreet Singh Badal who is involved in the Bathinda land allotment case. The court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Bathinda Daljit Kaur has issued this warrant. In this, instructions have been issued to arrest and produce Manpreet Singh Badal in Bathinda Vigilance Bureau police station.
Earlier, due to the possibility of Manpreet Singh Badal going abroad, Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued so that he does not leave the country. On the other hand, Manpreet Singh Badal has withdrawn his bail petition. Manpreet Badal sought anticipatory bail from the session court. His lawyer Sukhwinder Singh Bhinder said that when the petition was filed, the investigation was going on. We had argued that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is saying from the stage that he will admit Manpreet without a case. We went to the court for this reason that the politics of revenge is being done. In this case, the court gave notice to the vigilance. But since the case has now been registered, Manpreet’s lawyers will file a petition with new facts.
After withdrawing the bail plea, now Manpreet Singh Badal can be arrested at any time. In search of Manpreet, Vigilance Bureau has raided Muktsar village Badal on Monday. However, Manpreet was not there.
Disclosure during investigation
Vigilance has revealed during the investigation that since 2018, a conspiracy was being hatched to buy a plot near the TV tower in Model Town Phase One Bathinda. Due to which the officials and employees of Pudda put fake numbers of these plots on their own. Then in 2018, an event was held through e-auction. However, the map was not uploaded while bidding on the online e-auction portal. No bidder participated as the status of the plots was not known. Due to which this place could not be sold.
This proves that the bid was made for show only. At the time of bidding in 2018, the rate per square meter was fixed at 29 thousand 900 rupees. During the year 2021 also, bids were made at the same rate. The reason for this was that these plots were not sold in the auction held in 2018.
