Mann orders officials to prepare Girdavari report soon, compensation will be given to farmers before Baisakhi

Girdawari Report: The recent heavy rain and hailstorm in Punjab had caused a lot of damage to the crops. Seeing this huge loss of farmers, Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann has instructed the MLAs to go village to village and talk to the farmers.

Apart from this, Mann has also issued orders to the officials to prepare the Girdavari report soon. Mann gave information about this by tweeting. After the instructions of CM Mann, MLAs have started going to the villages and talking to the farmers to take stock of the damaged crops.

Also, CM Mann said that along with providing financial assistance to farmers, crop insurance will be provided. The government has also announced compensation for collapsed houses and minor damages due to heavy rains. Bhagwant Mann has said that the compensation for the damaged crop due to natural calamity will be given to the farmers before Baisakhi. He said that the Punjab government stands with the farmers.

The Punjab government will provide compensation to farmers of Rs 15,000 per acre for crop damage and Rs 6,800 for 33 to 75 percent loss. Girdavari will be conducted by Patwari at the common place of the village. This will also include past and present damages. 5200 rupees will be given to the houses which have sustained minor damage due to heavy rains. Economically weak people whose entire house has collapsed will be given assistance of Rs 1.20 lakh.
