Major reshuffle in Delhi Cabinet, Atishi will take over two departments taken away from Saurabh Bhardwaj, file sent to LG

AAP cabinet reshuffle: The Aam Aadmi Party has made a major reshuffle in the cabinet of the Delhi government on Tuesday. Services and Vigilance departments with Saurabh Bhardwaj have now been handed over to Atishi Marlena. The Arvind Kejriwal government took this step a day after the Rajya Sabha passed the Delhi Services Bill. Prior to this, Atishi has the responsibility of 12 departments, including education and energy.

There are total 70 MLAs in Delhi Vidhan Sabha. In such a situation, only 10 percent of the total MLAs can be made ministers. At present there are seven ministers including Chief Minister Kejriwal. These include Kailash Gehlot, Gopal Roy, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Atishi Marlena, Imran Hussain and Raj Kumar Anand.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal sends a file to Lt Governor VK Saxena, allotting Service and Vigilance Department to Atishi. Both the departments were earlier being handled by Saurabh Bharadwaj.

At present, Atishi holds important ministries like Women Development, Education, Tourism, Public Works Department in Delhi Government. On the other hand, Raj Kumar Anand currently holds several ministries including Social Welfare, Labor and Employment. Saurabh Bhardwaj previously held several important ministries including Health, Water, Urban Development, Services, Industries.
