With time, people will be able to apply for this online as well. Aadhaar card, PAN card will be required in the name of the woman to get Mahila Samman savings letter. PAN card should be linked with Aadhaar card. Make sure to match the name on both. Apart from this, the woman may need a mobile number and email ID to provide OTP while filling the form.

Deposit Rs 2 lakh in Mahila Samman Savings Letter for 2 years. If needed, this amount can be withdrawn even before 2 years. It is very easy to get tax exemption under this scheme. For example, if you earn up to Rs 9 lakh in a year, you will have to pay tax. Income up to Rs 7 lakh is exempt from tax. You can show this letter while filing returns by investing Rs 2 lakh in Mahila Bachat Patra to get tax exemption.
