The player auction process for the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has ended. The work on Maharaja Yadwinder Singh Cricket Stadium of Punjab Cricket Association in Mohali Mullanpur, Punjab is almost complete. The stadium work is at the final stage
According to Punjab Cricket Association officials, the stadium work is in the final stage. This stadium is built in an area of 38.20 acres. In this, around 40 thousand cricket fans will be able to sit on orange, blue and golden seats and watch the match. This stadium is three times bigger than IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali.
PCA has a seating arrangement for around 24 thousand fans. The wait of cricket fans to watch fours and sixes at Mullanpur Stadium in Mohali is about to end. IPL matches will be played here in the next year i.e. 2024.
Unique arrangement of lights
Flood lights have been installed in the new stadium to hold day-night matches. So a total of six power flood light poles have been installed. The lights installed in these lights have not been installed on the light poles of any stadium in India so far. Matches played under white lights will also provide a different experience to the spectators.
Several practice pitches were built
The main gate of the stadium, through which the teams will enter. A net session area is created near this area. There are 12 pitches prepared. Where the teams will practice. The nets at the PCA Stadium are built behind the Sessions Stadium and have only 9 pitches. The stadium has a total of 16 gates.
90 percent of the stadium work is complete
