Made in India Mobile Phone Exports More than Rs 90000 Cr, iPhone Maker Apple Registers 50 Percent Share

Mobile phone exports from the country have increased to $11.12 billion (about Rs 90,000 crore) in the last financial year. Apple, which makes the iPhone, accounts for almost half of this export. In the previous financial year, the export of mobile phones was around Rs 45,000 crore.

India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) said, “No economy or sector can grow without more exports. Mobile phone exports have increased by 100 percent in the last financial year. It has been more than Rs 90,000 crore. Also Electronics exports also grew by 58 percent to about Rs 1,85,000 crore. The central government banned mobile phones from the country. export For this, a target of $ 10 billion (about Rs 81,900 crore) has been set. Apple accounted for almost half of this export. The company has exported Made in India iPhones worth about $5.5 billion (about Rs 45,000 crore).

Sources estimate that Samsung’s share in mobile phone exports was about 40 percent. The company has exported around Rs 36,000 crore in this segment. The contribution of third-party exports was about $1.1 billion (about Rs 9,014 crore). These firms export phones of all brands made in the country.

Apple’s first store in India can be inaugurated by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook next week. Cook is scheduled to visit India for this. This is indicative of the company’s plans for the country as a growth market and manufacturing base. Bloomberg News quoted sources with knowledge of this as saying that Cook could be present at the inauguration of the company’s stores in Mumbai and Delhi. Cook last visited India about seven years ago. The company did not respond to emailed questions about Cook’s visit.
