Social media platform Twitter has a new CEO. The company’s current CEO and owner, Elon Musk, said late Thursday that he has chosen a woman as the company’s new CEO. She will join the company in next 6 weeks. Musk will be Twitter’s executive chairman and chief technology officer. They had been looking for a new CEO for Twitter for a long time.
Musk has not announced the name of the new CEO. However, Linda Yaccarino, NBC Universal’s top ad sales executive, could be Twitter’s new CEO, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Yaccarino interviewed Musk at an advertising conference in Miami last month. At the conference, Yaccarino praised Musk’s work ethic.

1. CEO Parag Aggarwal was fired
Elon Musk bought Twitter on October 27, 2022 for $44 billion. After this, Musk fired four top executives of the company. They include CEO Parag Aggarwal, finance chief Ned Segal, legal executive Vijay Gadde and Sean Adgett. This was followed by Chief Marketing Officer Leslie Berland, Chief Customer Officer Sarah Personet and Vice President of Global Client Solutions Jean-Philippe Maheu.
2. Fired more than 50% of employees
Elon Musk has laid off more than 50% of Twitter’s 7,500 employees. He then emailed the remaining employees with an ultimatum to stay with the company. In an email to employees, Musk wrote, “Employees will have to work hard to build a successful Twitter 2.0.” Also, success requires long hours of work and high efficiency.
The email said that employees who want to remain part of the company should click ‘yes’ on the link provided in the email. A notice of three months will be given to those who do not do so. 4. Blue subscription service
Elon Musk has launched Blue subscription service worldwide. Blue subscription service is priced at Rs 900 per month for Android and iOS mobile users in India.
