Alphonso Mango on EMI: Till today you must have seen many items like fridge, AC and TV getting EMI but have you seen fruit being sold on installments. If you haven’t seen it, we are telling you that a businessman from Pune is selling the King of Fruits Mango on EMI.
This businessman has introduced a unique facility for customers to buy the world-famous Alphonso mango for its special taste in monthly installments in view of the huge price hike.
Born in Devgarh and Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, Alphonso is also known as Hapus Mango. Alphonso is considered the best of all mango varieties. But due to its exquisite taste and low production, its prices are often out of the reach of the common man.
This year too, Alphonso mangoes are being sold at Rs 800 to 1300 per dozen in the retail market. In such a situation, a businessman named Gaurav Sans has come up with a unique offer to bring the taste of this special mango to the common people.
Merchants are now ready to sell Alphonso on easy monthly installments ie EMIs like any other expensive electronic product. “As soon as the sales started, the prices of Alphonso have gone up a lot,” Sans said.
In such a situation, if Alphonso is given on EMI as well, then everyone can taste it. Sons of Gurukripa Traders and Fruit Products, a fruit trading firm, claims to be the first organization in the country to sell mangoes on EMI.
He said, ‘We thought that if refrigerators, ACs and other electronic appliances can be bought on EMI, why not mangoes? This way everyone can buy this mango.’
He said, “One can buy Alphonso from his shop on installments like buying a mobile phone on EMI. For this the customer needs to have a credit card and then the purchase price is converted into installments of 3, 6 or 12 months.”
However, a minimum purchase of Rs 5,000 is required to buy Alphonso mangoes on installments at the Suns shop. He claimed that so far four people have come forward to take advantage of this scheme. Thus begins the journey of selling Alfonso at EMI.
