Landslide occurred in Shimla, 2 laborers died

The period of rain and snowfall has stopped in Himachal Pradesh, but now the cases of landslides are beginning to emerge. A landslide incident took place in the state capital Shimla on Tuesday morning.

Two people have died in the accident. At present, the police have taken possession of the bodies and taken them to the hospital in Shimla for post-mortem. On the other hand, other laborers are reported to be working at the incident site. Meanwhile, five workers were injured and escaped unhurt.

According to information, this landslide took place in Ashwani Khad on Janga Marg in Shimla at around 6:15 am on Tuesday morning. The bodies have been exhumed and sent to IGMC. IGMC CMO Mahesh said that two workers buried in the landslide were brought in the morning and both have died.

Shimla DC Anupam Kashyap took stock of the landslide incident on the Mehli-Janga road and interacted with other workers. As soon as the incident was reported, teams of police, fire brigade, SDRF and home guard reached the spot for rescue operations.

A team of police and SDRF with the help of fire brigade and home guard personnel pulled out the bodies from the rubble in about an hour. The deceased have been identified as 34-year-old Rakesh and 36-year-old Rajesh Kumar, residents of Bihar. The district administration has provided interim relief to the dead and injured.
