His father late Lakhbir Singh was also a soldier in the army. Martyr’s in-laws house is in Sector 26 Panchkula. There is a crowd of mourners at the martyr’s house. His dead body is expected to arrive by evening.

Col. Manpreet Singh was promoted from Lt. Col. to Colonel some time ago. He was married and has two brothers and a sister in his family. He is survived by his 7-year-old son Kabir Singh and two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Bani. Brother’s name is Sandeep Singh and sister’s name is Sandeep Kaur. Both are younger than him.

In 2003, he joined as a lieutenant

Shaheed Manpreet Singh joined as a lieutenant in 2003. He was promoted to Major in 2005. After retirement, his father started working as a security guard at Punjab University. He died while on the job. Therefore, Shaheed Manpreet Singh’s younger brother Sandeep Singh was recruited as a non-teaching staff. Currently he is working in Punjab University.

The siege was made on the information of being a terrorist

According to the information, the local police and army received information about the presence of terrorists in Kokarnag area of ​​Anantnag district of Kashmir. It was cordoned off in a joint operation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army.

The terrorists who were already hiding there started firing on the security forces. Meanwhile, Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish and DSP Humayun Butt of Jammu and Kashmir Police were shot. All three were seriously injured by this bullet and all three died due to excessive bleeding from the body.

Mother Manjit Kaur lives in the village

Martyr’s mother Manjit Kaur whose age is about 68 years. She lives in the village with her younger son Sandeep Singh. Shaheed Manpreet Singh is about 41 years old. He has studied up to 12th from Kendriya Vidyalaya Mullapur.

The dead body can reach by 4 pm today

The family has been informed about his martyrdom by the Indian Army. The body of Shaheed Manpreet Singh can reach his native village by 4 pm today. If there is any delay in this, the last rites of the martyr will be performed tomorrow on Friday.
