Punjab State Rural Livelihoods Mission: Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar handed over appointment letters to 134 newly recruited employees in the department. During the function at Punjab Bhavan, Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar congratulated the newly appointed employees and urged them to work with full dedication and honesty.

He said that under Punjab State Rural Livelihoods Mission (PSRLM) employment opportunities are made available for poor rural women and PSRLM. These employees have a special contribution to implement the scheme at the village level in a smooth manner and to educate the needy women, so they should perform their duties with a missionary spirit.

Laljit Singh Bhullar said that with the implementation of the Punjab State Rural Livelihoods Mission, the dependence of women members of self-help groups on private financiers has reduced to a considerable extent. Under this scheme, support is provided to women producers in villages through increasing agriculture and livestock production, developing value chains and non-agricultural activities like making sanitary pads, pickles, handicrafts and running stores.

He said that the benefit of this scheme is conveyed to the homes of rural women by the government through these employees so that employment opportunities can be created for them while improving their manual skills.

Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth of the state. He said that the Mann government has given government jobs to more than 29,000 youth so far. He said that the process of filling various posts of the department will be started soon.

In addition to 8 clerks in the department, among the 126 employees placed under the Punjab State Rural Livelihoods Mission, there are 8 District Program Managers, 9 District MIS Managers, 48 ​​Block Program Managers, 20 Block Program Managers (Livelihoods), 2 Block Program Managers (S). .VEP/NF), including 32 Cluster Coordinators and 3 Young Professionals, 2 Office Assistants, 1 Account Assistant and 1 MIS Assistant at State level.

During the event, Joint Development Commissioner Amit Kumar, Director Gurpreet Singh Khaira, Additional Director Sanjeev Garg, Additional Chief Executive Officer S.P. Angra and other officials were present.
