Lack of funds will not be allowed to provide state-of-the-art health facilities in District Faridkot: Speaker

Chandigarh – Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhawan has said that no shortage of funds will be allowed to provide state-of-the-art health facilities in Faridkot district and funds worth crores of rupees will soon be released to the district administration for quality health facilities. He gave this assurance during a meeting with the MLAs of the district, senior officials of the health and finance department and the district health team at the Legislative Assembly Secretariat. Sandhwan said that no stone will be left unturned to provide state-of-the-art medical facilities to the residents of Faridkot.

Presiding over the meeting, Kultar Singh Sandhwan asked the officials of the health department to take action to renovate the dilapidated buildings of the health institutions in the district as soon as possible.

The speaker said that the MHC being built at a cost of Rs 6.33 crore in the district hospital of Faridkot. The work of the new building of 30 beds should be completed in a timely manner and attention should also be focused on the need to establish a blood bank in this hospital.

He said that the process of making Jaito’s Community Health Center (CHC) a sub-divisional hospital should be speeded up. He said that with this, there will be two sub-divisional hospitals in the district along with the sub-divisional hospital of Kotakpura. In this regard, Principal Secretary of the Health Department Mr. Vikas Pratap Singh assured that CHC. The process of upgrading Jaito as a sub-divisional hospital will be completed soon.
Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhawan asked Deputy Commissioner Faridkot to provide hot-line electricity facility to Civil Hospital. Apart from this, he asked the officials to complete the required number of employees in the health institutions of the district.

On this occasion Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that he has decided to reorganize the health department across the state with which the shortage of medical, paramedical and other staff in government health institutions will be met. He highly said that officers and employees with good performance in the department will also be honored on the occasion of Independence and Republic Day.
Earlier, Civil Surgeon Faridkot Anil Goyal informed about the work being done in the district and the required medical equipment.
