Farmers Leaders meet Kuldeep Dhaliwal: Punjab Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Wednesday held a meeting with representatives of the United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) at his office regarding agricultural issues.

In the meeting, he ordered the principal secretary of the agriculture department to get the details of the farmers who have not received compensation for crop damage from the deputy commissioners by May 15 so that the compensation can be given to the farmers quickly.

Dhaliwal asked the officials/employees of the Revenue Department and Agriculture Department to submit a report after proper monitoring of crop failure. He also assured the farmers’ representatives that talks will be held with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the silage markets. Apart from this, regarding the difficulties faced by the farmers around the barbed wire, Dhaliwal said that the central government has already been written in this regard.

Farmer representatives said that the lands near the barbed wire are either BSF. should be acquired or they should be allotted land in exchange of land elsewhere so that their livelihood work continues.

The Agriculture Minister informed the farmers representatives about the compensation of the dead animals due to Lumpy Skin Disease that the Punjab Government has already written to the Central Government to provide assistance and after meeting with the Animal Husbandry Department and getting the details of the damage, further action was taken. will go He also assured not to take any action on the warrants issued by the Land Mortgage Bank. He said that a new policy will be made soon to give ownership rights to the land occupying farmers.

Demand for Rs 5 lakh compensation to the families of farmers who committed suicide

Regarding compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of farmers who committed suicide on this occasion, Dhaliwal said that at present we do not have any case pending, if any family has been deprived of compensation, the farmers’ unions should make a list and send them. So that they can be compensated as soon as possible. In addition to Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Baldev Singh Sirsa, representatives of Kisan Union, high officials of the Agriculture Department were present in the meeting.
