5. Alcohol
Excessive alcohol consumption can dehydrate the body, leading to a loss of electrolytes naturally in the body.
6. Eating Disorder
Conditions such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia cause malnutrition, which can lead to electrolyte imbalances.

- You may often feel muscle cramps or weakness.
- Feeling tired or lethargic most of the time.
- Irregular heartbeat or palpitation.
- Feeling mostly nausea or vomiting.
- Such people also suffer from headache or migraine.
- Mental health is also affected, you may have confusion or difficulty in concentrating.
- Symptoms of swelling or edema can also be a cause of electrolyte deficiency.
How to get relief from electrolyte imbalance?
There are many reasons behind electrolyte imbalance, so it is treated accordingly.
1. Sufficient Fluids
Adequate fluid intake or controlling certain medications can help restore electrolyte balance. In many severe cases, the patient may also have to be hospitalized to balance the electrolyte level.
2. Cut down on alcohol consumption
Consumption of alcohol is also a major reason behind the low electrolyte level. Therefore, it can be balanced by controlling the intake of alcohol.
