Appeal to Farmers: Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh has advised the farmers to adopt modern technologies in order to boost the agriculture of the state so that their income can increase along with the agricultural production.

Talking during the farmer training camp at the local Kisan Vikas Chamber, Kulwant Singh said that discussions were going on about opening a Kisan Hut in Mohali to help people involved in various businesses related to agriculture. He said that people especially women make different kinds of goods but there is no market for them. Considering this problem, the proposal to open a ‘Kisan Hut’ is under consideration. With this, on the one hand, the market will be available to the people involved in these businesses and on the other hand, the common people will also get cheaper goods.

Kulwant Singh said that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is developing a new agricultural model in favor of Punjab and that is why work has been started to prepare the agricultural policy of Punjab. He said that suggestions of thousands of farmers have been taken for agricultural policy during government-farmer meetings. He said that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is working very seriously on the new agriculture policy to make agriculture profitable.

He said that earlier no government had focused on making agriculture a profitable occupation. He said that the Chief Minister’s wish is to make the state ‘Rangala Punjab’. He said that there is a great need to save the soil health, water and environment of Punjab and the government is working for this. Talking about agricultural fairs, he said that there is a great need for them to make farmers aware and these fairs will be held continuously.

Kuljit Singh Randhawa MLA Constituency Derabsi specially participated in this camp and while addressing the farmers said that the young farmers should refrain from installing big music systems on the tractors so that by doing so incidents can be controlled. . He took the consent of the farmers for the supply of canal water by raising their hands and promised that vigorous efforts will be made keeping in mind the water needs of the farmers. Proper arrangements have been made for procurement and farmers will not face any difficulty in this regard. He appealed to the farmers to avoid polluting the environment by not burning wheat husk and other crop residues.

On this occasion, Kulwant Singh also honored the farmers who worked hard in the agricultural sector. Meanwhile, in the exhibition held, they went to different stalls and acquired information. In the camp, the experts from the Department of Agriculture/ Allied Departments and the team from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra made the farmers aware of new agricultural techniques.

On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Amaninder Kaur Brar, SDM Mohali Sarabjit Kaur Deputy Director Horticulture Dr. Jagdish Singh, Babbi Badal, Jagdev Singh Maloa, District Training Officer Dr. Dr. Baljinder Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer. Gurbachan Singh and farmers/farmer wives from different villages participated in large numbers.
