In Jharkhand, the posts from Officer to Employee are vacant in the Product Department. There has been no appointment in the department for years. Out of the total 1066 posts created in the Product Department, at present 888 posts are vacant. Only 178 people are working in the department from office bearers to employees. The situation of appointment is that only 33 product constables are working in the state. On an average, there are not even two constables for each district.
There are 19 assistant sub-inspectors and 47 sub-inspectors working in the state. From stopping the business of illegal liquor in the state to ensuring the sale of liquor according to the rules, it is their responsibility. Illegal business has also increased along with the consumption of liquor in the state. After the formation of the state, new posts were not created in the Product Department, on the other hand, appointments were not made to those posts which were created since the time of unified Bihar.
Liquor business of 4500 crores:
There is a business of about 4500 crores of liquor in the state. Revenue has also increased continuously since the formation of the state. At present, about two thousand crores revenue is received annually from liquor in the state. On one hand the business of liquor is increasing and on the other hand the number of working personnel is decreasing.
Product constable was not appointed after 1980
Product constable has not been appointed in the state for 32 years. The last appointment of product constable was in the year 1980 at the time of unified Bihar. A total of 622 posts of Product Constable have been created in the state. Presently 589 posts are vacant. On the other hand, 86 out of 105 posts of assistant sub-inspector and 78 out of 125 posts of sub-inspector product are vacant.
Appointed in the year 2016
The last appointment in the excise department in the state was made in the year 2016. In the year 2016, appointments were made to the posts of assistant sub-inspector and sub-inspector excise. Since then there has been no appointment in the excise department. At present, there is no process regarding the appointment. Has not been started.
