Jalandhar: A terrible accident took place due to a fire in Avtar Nagar of the city. In this accident, five people including three children died in a family. It is being told that the incident is being reported around 9:30 pm on Sunday night. When people went out for a walk on the terrace after eating, they saw smoke coming from the house and informed the police along with the fire brigade.
On receiving information about the incident, the fire brigade personnel who reached the spot first pulled out the children, among whom a 15-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy were burnt alive and died before reaching the hospital. Three other persons later succumbed to their injuries in hospital. The deceased have been identified as Ruchi, Diya, Akshay, Yashpal Ghai and Mansha.
Cause of accident
According to Bhaskar’s reporter, Raj Ghai, the brother of deceased Yashpal Ghai, said that his brother had bought a new double door refrigerator 7 months ago. Late at night there was a huge explosion in his compressor and after that the house caught fire. Her brother, who was around 65 years old, her son, daughter-in-law and two daughters who were sitting inside the house did not get a chance to go out. While her elderly sister-in-law was sitting outside the house, she is safe.

Yashpal Ghai owns a 15 marla house in a congested area. When all the members of the house were watching cricket, there was a huge explosion and the fire broke out in a few moments. The accident was so terrible that the family could not get a chance to escape. Hearing the sound of the explosion, the neighbors came out and saw that the house was on fire.
