IPL 2023: Punjab Kings set a target of 192 runs to Kolkata Knight Riders

The IPL 2023 has started and the second match is being played today between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Mohali. Kolkata have won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Punjab scored 191 runs after losing 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Thus, Punjab set Kolkata a target of 192 runs for victory.

Batting earlier, Punjab got their first blow when their opener Prabhasimran Singh returned to the pavilion after being dismissed by the southpaw for 23 runs. The second blow to Punjab came with the dismissal of Bhanuka Rajapakse. Rajapakse was dismissed by Umesh Yadav on 50 runs. During his innings, Rajapakse also hit 5 fours and 2 sixes. After this, Punjab’s third wicket fell with the dismissal of Jitesh Sharma. Jitesh became Southee’s victim. After this, captain Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed by Chakraborty for 40 runs, Shikhar Dhawan also hit 6 fours during his innings.
