Senior Superintendent of Police, Jamshedpur, Prabhat Kumar said, “The situation is under control. People gathered in the area have been removed. Security forces have been deployed in the entire area.”

Vijaya Jadhav, deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum, said, “Some people have also been detained. We are assessing the situation. Peace committee and other concerned parties have been contacted to normalize the situation.” He also requested people not to pay heed to rumours. Vijaya said, “People are requested not to pay heed to any rumours. If they receive any provocative or indecent messages, please report them to the police.” This matter is being investigated.

Last month in Punjab also, due to apprehension of violence and nuisance, mobile internet and internet were suspended for a few days. SMS Services will remain closed.
