Exporters’ body FIEO has expressed hope that the country’s exports will increase by three-five percent to reach $435-445 billion in the current financial year. The country’s exports in the financial year 2021-22 were $ 422 billion.

Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) President A Sakthivel said in a statement on Friday that in the event of no improvement in global economic growth and geo-political situation, the coming months could be very challenging for exports. He said, “However, India will be able to surpass the export figure of the last financial year. In the financial year 2022-23, the merchandise exports can remain up to $ 435-445 billion with a growth of three-five percent.”

However, for the second consecutive month, India’s exports declined to $32.91 billion in January. With this, total exports increased by 8.51 per cent to reach $369.25 billion during the April-January period. FIEO, engaged in promoting export activities, is going to celebrate its 58th Foundation Day on 19th February. The three-week long celebrations will conclude with ‘Sorsex India’ on March 9-11 in Delhi.
